Well, here I am, with a button in my ear, trying to type up the minutes of some committee meeting - a task that I despise in general, but it's even worse if I have to do it for meetings I don't attend. Such as this one. I have to listen to the recording over and over again, which is a hassle and gives me a headache because I have to use an old-fashioned tape player (not one of those technically advanced gizmos with a foot pedal, mind you). Grrrrr!!
Anyway, this is my third day back at the office and I'm still not back in the swing of things. I did some beta-work and chatted with BadKatPat yesterday night, but I still feel disconnected from HP/DM. *freaks out*
And now for something completely different: Today's featured article on Wikipedia is Same-sex marriage in Spain. I had no idea! How come this news item, which was news in 2005, is news to me now, in 2007? I am fairly certain it would have caught my attention had it been in the local paper, so I am assuming it wasn't in there (which wouldn't surprise me, considering that this is area is ruled by Southern Baptist Republicans). Or am I ignorant? Misinformed? Underinformed? God, how I miss the background information I am so used to from German TV!
Random afterthought: After riding the U-Bahn via Ernst-Reuter-Platz to Theodor-Heuss-Platz for a week, I am now looking for the song "Berlin, Berlin (Dein Herz kennt keine Mauern)" by John F und die Gropiuslerchen. Does anybody happen to have the mp3?
