They're all refugees, except for Baby, whom my husband adopted when his ex-wife's daughter's cat hat a litter (why don't people at least keep their pets inside if they can't be arsed to spay or neuter them? Grrrrr!!!).
Miss Kitty was the first in 2001. We found her in my in-laws' neighborhood and had her for about a year before Beefy appeared on our driveway one day and eventually moved in. Then Miss Kitty disappeared without a trace. :( So my husband adopted Baby and his sister, Fuzzy. They were about two or three months old when I spotted Tom in our yard. I called out to him and he came running towards me, so that was that. A couple of months later, Fuzzy suffered what the vet thought was a spinal stroke when she was only seven months old and had to be euthanized. :( :( So there were only Beefy, Baby, and Tom, until Lucky was added to the family in 2005.
On average, we adopted one homeless cat per year since I moved here. I love cats, but this one is the last. Five cats is enough!
