As ya'll might remember, I work for a local Chamber of Commerce and get asked strange questions at times.
"My greatgrandmother lived in (little town next to the little town where I live). She died in 1937. The county office there cannot find her death certificate. Can you tell me of any Funeral Homes that were in business at that time and how I can contact them?"
I stared at the message. Blinked. Frowned. Stared again and blinked some more. Then typed up a polite reply referring her to the two funeral homes in town and the county health department.
Honestly, what makes a person think that anybody working at the Chamber in 2007 would know what funeral homes were in operation in 1937?
