A friend just sent me this:

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother", she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"

Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, "Thou shall not kill."

Here is another one:

Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil.  One said to the other, “What do you think about all this Satan stuff?”

The other boy replied, “Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out.  It's probably just your Dad.”

May we all find find many more things to giggle about today!

oh, and my new sibling is great, she's so cute when she's looking at the patterns on our couch and her eyes are huge and she goes cross-eyed every now and then, and she looks so funny when she does it. :) She doesn't cry very much either, which I was hoping she wouldn't because I hate it when baby's cry :(

I'm glad you like your little sister! I've never had children because I'm not emotionally stable enough to be a good mother, but I admire people who have the patience (and courage!) to be parents.

yeah. I'm emotionally unstable, too. I don't think I would want my children to have to deal with me being depressed and things like that. Maybe one day, it will be different. I think my mom's postpartum depression is getting better. She didn't have it with me or my other sister Haley.

"Maybe one day, it will be different."

I cross fingers for you! And just think about it: when you're ready to have a family, you'll already have experience taking care of a baby. How cool is that?!

thanks :) I hope it will be different. I wish that this could've been my first little sister, so that I could understand it more.

Having her tubes tied is not going to affect hormone production, so your mom should be okay.

Postpartum depression is likely caused by a change in hormones; some have speculated that being separated from the newborn might have something to do with this, though, and that physical contact with the baby as well as breastfeeding will help.
